Ms. Williamson is the Founding Executive Director of Protect the People (PTP). Ms. Williamson has over 20 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, leading teams in complex emergencies and advising United Nations agencies, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). She has managed programs for refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) along the borders of Afghanistan-Pakistan, Kenya-Somalia, and Thailand-Burma and responded to major disasters such as the Southeast Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the Haiti earthquake. She holds a Master of Studies in Forced Migration from Oxford University and a B.A. in International Relations, African Studies, and French from Gordon College.
